Next Sunday March 15th:

On March 15th at 10:00am we will have a Divine English Service with the Grace United Church as a combined service. Please note the change in time of the service on that day.

Kalpana:

Kalpana #DC/198/09 from the Diocesan Bishop was read, regarding his taking charge of the Diocese, the warm reception he received after arrival, and the concerns about obtaining visas for the new Vicars coming on transfer.

Home Prayer Meetings:

On Saturday March 14th 6:00pm, in Brampton South at the residence of Mr. Oommen Mathew (Shibu and Shini), 80 Tiller Trail, Brampton. Tel. 905-216-1972.

Edavaka Mission:

The weekly prayer meeting will be held at 7:30pm this Wednesday March 11th, at the residence of Mr. Johnson Edavattal (Vijayan and Susan), 7155 Windscale Lane, Mississauga -- Tel: 905-821-4358. All are invited to attend.

Sunday School:

Next Sunday there will be no common session, and classes will be held after the first part of the Joint Service.

Students' Retreat: The Eastern Canada Regional Mar Thoma Sunday School will be conducting a Students' Retreat on Saturday March 14th from 9:00am to 3:30pm at the Grace United Church. Rev. Jean Leckie will lead the retreat based on the Theme: God's Promise - A Day of Discovering our Promise with God and with our community. Registration fee will be $5.00. Students who have not registered are requested to do so either with the Team Leaders or the Sunday School office bearers. Children from Grades 5 to 10 are also requested to bring their Bibles to the Retreat.

Sevika Sangham:

This week's prayer cell will be held at the residence of Gigi Oommen, Brampton and at the residence of Annie Abraham, Mississauga on Tuesday March 10th at 7:30pm. Ladies are encouraged to attend and be blessed.

Our Diocese has requested the Sevika Sangham to send a contribution towards the upliftment of unfortunate women and children of Papua New Guinea. Members are requested to donate to this worthy cause and contributions will be collected throughout the month of March.

Junior Choir:

There will be Junior Choir practice next Sunday 9:30am at the Church. This will be a combined practice with the Grace United Church Junior Choir. All Junior Choir members are requested to attend.

Newcomers Guidance Cell:

There are some job openings in City of Brampton for Communications and IT positions. If anyone is interested, please contact Shaji Varghese at 905-457-0498.

Birth:

A baby boy Jadyn Jacob John is born to Bija and John Joseph of Brampton East prayer group, on March 3rd. Our congratulations to Joe and Bija!

Spring Newsletter:

The Spring Newsletter is being prepared. Any member who is interested to submit an article may do so by Sunday 15th March, to the Secretary. Members who are interested in reading the Bible or assisting in the worship, please give your name to our Lay Ministrants Arun Thomas or Salin John.

Mar Thoma Messenger:

The theme for the upcoming issue of Mar Thoma Messenger is "CHURCH - THE CALLED OUT COMMUNITY". The Messenger editorial committee is inviting articles from those who are interested to write on this theme, and the articles must be submitted to the chief Editor Mr. Eapen Daniel before March 22nd. The publication of the magazine is under US Copyright protection acts, and therefore authors are requested to provide proper referencing information if articles are copied or extracted from web sites.
