Edavaka Mission |
The Mar Thoma Voluntary Evangelistic Association founded in 1924, is one of the official organizations of the Mar Thoma Church. The Most Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Thoma was instrumental in the formation of the Association. The primary objective of the organization is to lead every member to a spirit-filled and witnessing Christian life. To achieve its purpose, the Association inculcates in each of them the consciousness that he or she is specially called to fulfill the royal command of Jesus Christ, "making all nations disciples, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you". At the parish level, the Voluntary Evangelistic Association is known as the Edavaka Mission. Members of the St. Mathew's Mar Thoma Church Edavaka Mission meet regularly for fellowship, Bible study and prayer at 7:30pm on Wednesday evenings at the members' residences. Our Vicar Rev. Alex P. John continues to lead the group in Bible study, and leads the meetings. In addition we have several activities planned throughout the year. During summer, Edavaka Mission members would like to visit all interested families to share the importance of family prayer and true worship. It is in genuine and true worship that God's presence is felt, God's purposes revealed, and God's power displayed. Those who are interested in attending these meetings and for more information, contact our Vicar Rev. Alex P. John or Edavaka Mission Secretary Mr. Wilson Mathews at 905-459-4809.
